বিরূপাক্ষ পাল

Biru Paksha Paul is professor of economics at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Cortland where he teaches since 2007.  He served as chief economist of Bangladesh Bank over 2015-2016. He also served as a guest speaker at Dhaka University and various public administration academies in Bangladesh. Dr. Paul received his BSS (Honors) and MSS in economics from Dhaka University and MBA in finance from the University of Technology-Sydney.  He received his PhD in economics from Binghamton University.  His papers have been accepted in numerous international journals.  He received the outstanding achievement in research award 2015 SUNY Cortland. His books in Bengali include the topics such as the free market economy, banking, growth acceleration, institutions, South Asia, and debate. His research-based book, “Essays on Indian Business Cycles and Inflation” reflects his interest in South Asian economies.  Mr. Paul writes in Bangladesh’s leading newspapers on macroeconomic policies.  His book named, “Empowering Economic Growth for Bangladesh: Investment Strategies, Macro Policies, and Institutions” has been published from The University Press Limited in January 2019.
